Ceramic Hand Building Classes for Adults

Learn the basics of hand building, pinch, coil and slab construction, as needed. Each student will start from their own level of expertise, creating forms which interest them. Mary Jane Elgin has displayed and sold her works extensively in museums, galleries, and Craftsman boutiques. "I enjoy sharing my knowledge of clay and have always felt that teaching is the best way for me to keep my own work fresh and exciting!"

This Fall we will be offering one section of this class, which will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9:30pm. It will begin on October 21 and continue for seven weeks through December 9th. We will skip the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The cost is $175 for the seven classes with an additional $20 for supplies and firing costs. Fun with Art and Clay for Kids (Ages 7-12)

We will create castles, mermaids, cups & bowls while learning pinch, coil and slab hand building techniques. We will also explore drawing and painting as we plan our creations. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired. Emphasis is on having fun while learning new techniques and forms, both useful and fanciful. Creations will be food and dishwasher safe.

This Fall we will be offering three sections of this class which will meet on Wednesdays from 10:45 to 12:15 and from 1:15 to 2:45, and on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5pm. The Wednesday classes are from October 21st until December 9th. (We will skip the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.) The Tuesday class begins on October 27th and continues through December 8th. The cost is $105 for the seven classes and an additional $15 for supplies and firing costs. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
